ADAM RUNDLE has revealed he hasn’t given up on forcing his way back into the Morecambe first team.
The South Shields-born winger joined Blue Square Bet Premier side Gateshead on loan from the Shrimps until the end of the season earlier this week.
Rundle, 26, who the Tynesiders tried to sign in the summer, played the full 90 minutes on his debut for Gateshead in their 2-1 Blue Square Bet Premier defeat at York City on Tuesday night.
He told the Evening Chronicle: “Gateshead offered me a two-year deal in the summer but the chance to stay in the Football League with Morecambe came up, and I decided to go there.
“I’m just seeing this as something until the end of the season. I’ve still got a year left on my contract, and see myself going back to Morecambe in the summer and starting afresh.
“I’ve played a lot of games in the Football League and signed a two-year deal with Morecambe in the summer.
“I started off well, and then the last couple of weeks have been in and out, so I’m delighted to get the chance to play more regularly again.
“When Gateshead came in for me it was a chance to play games and get some match fitness under my belt between now and the end of the season.”
