Morecambe visit Bootham Crescent on Tuesday night looking for their first win in two years against York.

A former Doncaster and Preston North End defender, Wilcox was twice named in the PFA team of the year making over 500 professional appearances. Set the all-time record for the longest unbeaten run at the start of a managerial career with Scunthorpe before leaving in October last year. Was back in work a week later however replacing Nigel Worthington at York.

The former Barnet striker is York’s top scorer this season with 10 goals in all competitions.


York currently sit in 19th and nine points behind 12th-placed Morecambe. Unbeaten in five, were 1-0 winners over relegation-threatened Hartlepool on Saturday.


The teams share six wins apiece since their first meeting in the 1966/7 FA Cup. This season’s reverse fixture at the Globe Arena ended 1-1 in October.
