Morecambe travel to Plymouth on Saturday hoping to get the better of another side in the hunt for the play-off places and dispel memories of their 5-0 defeat last season.

Former Oldham and Chesterfield boss arrived at Home Park in January 2013. After a 10th-placed finish last season is tasked with trying to get the Pilgrims out of the Football League’s bottom tier.

Striker, 26, returned to the club he started his career with on loan in January 2013 before making the stay permanent in the summer of 2014 when he signed a two-year deal. Former Rotherham, West Brom, Oldham and Yeovil man has 13 goals in all competitions this season. The next highest in the Pilgrims’ scoring charts is former Shrimp Lewis Alessandra with six.


Argyle, currently ninth in League 2, have slipped out of the play-off places after a run of five games without a win. Lost 1-0 at home to Luton last time out on Saturday having drawn their previous two games 0-0 at Southend and York respectively.


Plymouth just have the edge in seven past meetings with three wins, two draws and two Shrimps wins. Earlier in the season Jim Bentley’s side won 2-1 at the Globe Arena in September but they will be looking to dispel memories of the 5-0 thrashing at Home Park last season.
