Morecambe welcome Northampton to the Globe Arena on Saturday in a 3pm kick-off.

Chris Wilder

The 47-year-old shocked many outsiders when he swapped high-flying Oxford for lowly Northampton in January.

Having narrowly kept the Cobblers in the Football League has invested in some proven League 2 quality over the summer with the Sixfields side targeting a loftier finish in 2014-15.

Key Man

Marc Richards

Man charged with firing the Cobblers to promotion signed a three-year deal on his return to Sixfields in the summer after rejecting a new deal at Chesterfield.

Is the top scorer in League 2 with eight goals to his name, seven having come in his last five games.

Currently ninth in the table, performances have been up and down with games involving Wilder’s side rarely dull.

In four wins, two draws and three defeats this season they have scored the most goals, 17, but also let in 13.

Their 5-4 defeat at home to Accrington on Saturday came on the back of a 5-1 win over Hartlepool the previous Tuesday.

Morecambe will hope to improve their poor record against Northampton on Saturday.

Shrimps have only won one of their 10 games against the Cobblers with four draws and five Northampton wins.

Last season the sides shared two draws, 0-0 at Sixfields in September and 1-1 at the Globe Arena in March.
