Morecambe travel to high-flying Luton on Saturday, hoping to do the double over the Hatters.
Lower league veteran, familiar to Shrimps fans as former boss of old friends Dagenham & Redbridge, continues to work his magic. The 64-year-old left the Daggers for Luton in February 2013 and guided the Hatters to the Conference Premier title last season. It’s no surprise to see them flying high on their return to the Football League.
The 12-goal top scorer, a former Hull youngster, has appeared close to leaving the club in recent weeks. Interest from elsewhere meant the 22-year-old missed out in the defeat to AFC Wimbledon but did return from the bench in the win over Accrington on Saturday before playing the final half an hour against Bury on Tuesday.
Hatters are fourth in League 2. Have been on a mixed run of late with two wins, two draws and two defeats in February. Beat Accrington 2-0 on Saturday but lost 1-0 at Bury on Tuesday night.
It’s all square in thee League 2 meetings between the sides with one Shrimps win, one for Luton and one draw. Last game at Kenilworth Road between the sides was a 1-1 draw in December 2008. Shrimps won the game between the sides at the Globe Arena this season 3-0 in December.
