Top of the table Gillingham are the visitors to the Globe Arena on Saturday.
Martin Allen. The often controversial “Mad Dog” signed a two-year contract with the Gills in July and has broken club records in guiding them to the top of League 2.
One to watch
Antonio German. On-loan Brentford man’s pace will trouble the Shrimps’ defence whether he starts or comes off the bench. The explosive former Queens Park Rangers striker joined the Gills for a month at the end of February.
Shrimps have only won one of seven Football League meetings between the sides, a 2-1 win at the Globe Arena in October 2011. Jim Bentley’s side lost by the same scoreline in this season’s reverse fixture at Priestfield back in November.
Gills have only lost one of last eight games in a run that has included three draws. Allen’s side are currently five points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand on second-placed Burton Albion. Better on their travels than at home and have a club record 11 away wins on the road this year and current unbeaten away run of 11 is also Gills’ best ever. They also have the best defensive away record in the whole of the Football League.
