Morecambe host Cheltenham Town on Saturday in a battle between two unlikely high-fliers in League 2.

Mark Yates.

In charge since 2009, former Robins midfielder guided club to the play-offs in 2012 and 2013.

Key Man

Byron Harrison.

Last season’s top scorer and player of the year, he has only scored once so far this term, but he has caused all sorts of problems for defenders and is playing with real confidence.

Tall, quick and strong – he’s an all-rounder.

Sit one place above the Shrimps in second in League 2 after an unbeaten start that has seen them win four and draw one of their opening five games.

Also beat Oxford 2-0 in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.

In 16 meetings in League 2, the Conference and the FA Cup, the Robins have had the better of things, winning nine games with four Shrimps wins and three draws.

Last season Yates’ side did the double, winning 3-0 at Whaddon Road to end the Shrimps’ unbeaten run in October before a 1-0 win at the Globe Arena in December.

Possible Line-up

Carson, Vaughan, Braham-Barrett, Elliott, Taylor, Brown, Wynter, Richards, Gornell, Harrison, Taylor.
