Morecambe welcome league leaders Burton Albion to the Globe Arena this Saturday hoping to secure a league double over the visitors.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
The former Chelsea frontman scored 69 goals in 136 appearances for the Blues and was twice the Premier League Golden Boot winner. Hasselbaink also appeared for the Netherlands at the 1998 France World Cup. After coaching stints with Nottingham Forest and Royal Antwerp, replaced Gary Rowett at Burton in November of last year.
The in-form striker has provided 10 assists in 42 appearances for the Brewers this year. Beavon has also netted six times making him a real danger for the Shrimps. The 30-year-old is a former Preston North End and Wycombe man.
Table-toppers Albion are unbeaten in nine. Salvaged a 1-1 draw at struggling Carlisle on Wednesday night with on-loan Birmingham striker Denny Johnstone striking nine minutes into stoppage time to secure a point with the last kick of the game. Victory on Saturday, with other results going their way, will see Hasselbaink’s side promoted to League 1.
Morecambe have a good record against Albion with 12 wins in 22 meetings. Shrimps will be looking to do the double after a 2-0 win at Burton in October.
