Morecambe head to Lancashire rivals Accrington Stanley on Friday looking to end that ‘hoodoo’.
Like so many connected with Stanley, Coleman needs no introduction to Morecambe fans. Former Shrimps striker returned to the Crown Ground in September after spells at Rochdale, Southport and Sligo Rovers.
Wembley winner’s move to Stanley on January’s transfer deadline day raised a few eyebrows. Most of the month had been spent talking about the goalkeeper extending his stay at the Globe Arena but after Jim Bentley hit a brick wall Davies turned to Stanley in a bid to find first-team football. Fleetwood stopper is undoubtedly one of the best in the division.
Stanley are currently four places and four places behind the Shrimps in 17th in League 2. Coleman saw his side go down 2-0 at home to Newport on Saturday, their seventh game without a win.
Not a subject any Morecambe fan needs any education on. Shrimps have failed to win any of the 15 League 2 meetings between the two sides. Accrington won this season’s reverse fixture 2-1 at the Crown Ground in October.
