Morecambe’s youth team get their chance to shine on the Globe Arena pitch in the FA Youth Cup tomorrow night, Wednesday.

The Shrimps’ under 18s are in second round action against Bradford City on November 20 with a home tie against Milwall awaiting the winners.

Phil Hackney’s side set up the clash with the Bantams with a 3-1 victory over 10-man Hartlepool on October 29.

Two goals from Tom Woods and a header from Tyler Bowman gave the young Shrimps a memorable win to set up the tie against their League 1 opponents.

Coach Hackney said: “This is a big night for the club and for the lads and it would be fantastic for the them to get a good support.

“Some of the FA Youth Cup ties get really big crowds and it would be great to see a decent number of fans here cheering them on the night.

“They don’t often get the chance to play in front of large crowds and I am sure it would make a massive difference for them if they did.”

The Shrimps youngsters warmed up for the big cup tie with a thrilling 4-3 victory at Preston North End on Saturday.

Woods, who has been an unused substitute for the first team this season, scored twice with Alex Naylor and Charlie Bailey also on the mark.

The game against Bradford kicks off at 7pm and entry is priced £3 for adults and £1 for concessions and juniors.

Season tickets do not apply as the match is an FA fixture.
