The Shrimps host financially-troubled Port Vale on Saturday

One to watch

Marc Richards. Captain has 15 goals in all competitions. There will be a couple of familiar faces too. Chris Shuker, who left the Shrimps at the end of last season, joined the Valiants on non-contract terms in February and could feature from the bench. Former Morecambe right back Adam Yates should start.


Shrimps have won four of their last five against the Valiants, including a 4-0 victory at Vale Park in October. The one defeat being the humiliating 7-2 loss in the penultimate game of Sammy McIlroy’s spell in charge at Morecambe.


Had lost four of their previous five games before Louis Dodds’ brace gave them a 2-1 victory at Aldershot on Saturday.
