This Saturday the Shrimps welcome Plymouth to the Globe Arena. The Pilgrims secured their Football League safety last Saturday.

Carl Fletcher. Took over as player-manager from Peter Reid in September and following James Brent’s takeover of the administration-hit club at the end of October, the former Crystal Palace midfielder has masterminded an unlikely survival bid after picking up just one point from their opening nine games under Reid.

One to watch

The Pilgrims will be without captain and top goalscorer Simon Walton who is out for the rest of the season after suffering a dislocated shoulder. Argyle have been strengthened by numerous loan signings since Brent’s takeover.

1-1 draw between the two sides at Home Park in November was the first ever meeting between them. Nick Fenton’s goal late into six minutes of injury time denied the home side what would have been only their third win of the season at that point.

The Pilgrims have lost just once in their last eight matches. The 1-1 draw at home to Oxford last Saturday secured their Football League survival after it looked like they may go out of existence at the start of the campaign.

Possible line-up

Cole, Berry, Purse, Bhasera, Blanchard, Williams, Young, Wotton, Hourihane, S Fletcher, Feeney.
