Morecambe v Newcastle: Younger Ameobi will get chance to shine

A number of Newcastle’s younger players are likely to get their chance to shine when the Premier League giants visit the Globe Arena.

Chief amongst them will be Sammy Ameobi, the 21-year-old being in line to partner older brother Shola in attack.

An exciting talent, the England Under 21 international has pace to burn and is likely to enjoy the type of game on offer against the Shrimps on Wednesday night.

The striker or wide player has spent time on loan at Middlesbrough and has been targeted by Wigan this season.

He has fond memories of this competition after scoring his only senior goal thus far against Scunthorpe in the league cup a couple of years ago.

Other youngsters who could catch the eye are Slovenian international Haris Vučkić and local boy Paul Dummett.

Vučkić spent time on loan at Cardiff last season and is an exciting attacking midfield player while left back Dummett, a Wales Under 21 international, is a Newcastle boy who is fast becoming a fans’ favourite.
