Morecambe travel to MK Dons in Carabao Cup round three

The Shrimps will face their fellow League One outfit – whom they welcome to the Mazuma Stadium on Saturday – with the match being played in the week beginning November 7.

Derek Adams’ players booked their place in round three with victory at Rotherham United on Tuesday.

Their opponents, meanwhile, reached this stage after beating Sutton United in round one and Watford at the second hurdle.

It is the second time in three seasons that the Shrimps have reached round three, having beaten Grimsby Town and Oldham Athletic before losing behind closed doors to Newcastle United on home soil in September 2020.

That was the first time they made it into the third round since doing so in 2007/08, their first season as an EFL club.

They posted wins over Preston North End and Wolves before losing at Sheffield United.
