Morecambe sign former Everton youngster on loan from Salford City

Morecambe have beaten the clock on deadline day to bring in Alex Denny on loan from Salford City.

Having seen Adam Phillips recalled by Burnley and loaned to Accrington Stanley earlier in the day, the Shrimps have filled that gap with the signing of the 20-year-old.

A former England U17 and U18 international, Denny started his career with Everton and made his debut for them in a Europa League win at Apollon Limassol in December 2017.

He also made three appearances for the Toffees in their EFL Trophy campaign in the 2019/20 season, at the end of which he joined Salford.

Denny has turned out a dozen times for the Ammies so far this season, including their EFL Trophy and League Two wins against the Shrimps in September and November respectively.
