A young Morecambe Reserves side lost 3-0 at Walsall on Tuesday afternoon in the Final Third Development League.

First-half goals from Levi Rowley, Kory Roberts and Will Shorrock helped the Saddlers to victory in a game played at Chasetown FC.

Stewart Drummond’s Shrimps side was made up of entirely of academy players with goals on eight, 25 and 38 minutes putting the game out of reach by the interval as Walsall dominated.

Tom Cowley and Morgan Homson-Smith, who have spent time on loan at Kendal this season, had chances but openings for Morecambe were rare.

The Shrimps’ second string are next in action when they host Burton Albion at the Globe Arena on Tuesday, April 5. The game is a 2pm kick-off.
