Adams said: “We are delighted to have three of our next four games at home.

“We have won four, drawn three and lost three of our last 10 games at the Mazuma Stadium in all competitions which is a good record which, with a bit more luck, could have been even better.

“Our next two home games are against teams that are close to us in the league table in Harrogate and Orient, and we are looking forward to them as points in those games would help our league standing.”

Adams is also hoping fans will be able to attend games over the Christmas period if the national Covid-19 restrictions are eased.

He said: “We are missing supporters in the stadiums and I really felt that at Newport on Saturday.

“The place was dead and I think that helped Newport.

“We had four bookings and a sending off and they didn’t have a player booked, and I found that a bit strange throughout the 90 minutes.

“The sooner we can get fans back at the Mazuma Stadium to watch football and get behind us again the better.”
