Morecambe’s youth team players set off for a two-week training camp in Austria on Saturday.
The young Shrimps, led by Stewart Drummond and Neil Wainwright have taken advantage of a fund that gives young footballers the chance to gain valuable experience.
The 16 scholars on the trip will spend the two weeks training and playing games against Celtic and Aberdeen youngsters.
Head of Youth Drummond said: “There is a funding stream available for trips like this which are available sporadically.
“We were fortunate to get the funding this year and it will be a great experience for the lads.
“They will get the chance to train together, live together and bond together and it will be fantastic for them and their development.
“It will be a great chance for myself and Neil Wainwright to deliver a good pre-season programme that will stand the lads in good stead for the coming season and everyone has been really looking forward to it.”
