Morecambe are hoping to have Shaun Beeley fit for Sunday’s clash with Dagenham & Redbridge.

The right wing back has been a key man so far this season but picked up a knock towards the end of the 2-1 win over Mansfield on Tuesday night.

Boss Jim Bentley said: “Thankfully it wasn’t a twist or a pull when he rattled in to the lad late on Tuesday night.

“He came in on Wednesday with very heavy bruising around his knee and shin.

“But with it being a bang and having the extra day until Sunday I’d imagine he’ll be okay.

“I’m hoping he’ll be okay because he’s been a top performer for us and we’ll need him.”

Ryan Williams also missed the game with neck and back pain but should return to the squad after physio treatment.

Bentley said: “He hit a shot and twisted awkwardly and knocked something out of place.

“He’s had to go and get his pelvis realigned which sounds nasty but it’s only a physio’s job.

“He knocked his body shape out and it affected his neck, shoulder and spine.

“Monday and Tuesday he struggled to get out of bed and that’s why he couldn’t take his position on the bench against Mansfield.

“But he’ll be back now after a couple of days rest.”

Andy Wright is back training after his hernia operation but Sunday will come too soon for a return.

Stewart Drummond is still out with a knee problem.
