The Morecambe skipper damaged knee ligaments just eight minutes into his debut against Hartlepool on the opening day of the season.

The midfielder, who joined from Wycombe in the summer, was given a mid-November return date, something he is working hard to meet.

The 25-year-old told The Shrimps’ match-day programme: “It’s been frustrating I must admit.

“With having my leg in a brace I haven’t been able to travel to the ground every day so have been at home a lot which is not where I want to be.

“I am hopefully over the worst now.

“At the start I was given a 12-week target to get playing again and I am desperate to be back playing in November.

“It’s a target I want to meet because I have found it hard not playing.

“I am a terrible spectator and have been very lucky in my career so far.

“I haven’t really had any major injuries and I certainly don’t want any more.”
