Jim Bentley has revealed he came close to making a breakthrough in the loan window.
The Shrimps are still yet to sign a player with the Morecambe boss admitting to being increasingly infuriated.
Bentley wants to bring in an attacking midfielder, ideally one who could be at the club next season, but has so far been frustrated.
The Shrimps boss said: “I’m still looking.
“I got knocked back on one last week and I’m getting a little bit frustrated by it all.
“We’re always exploring options.
“Ideally we want someone who will come in and affect the first team and who we might have a chance of getting next year.
“They can come in and have a look at us and we can have a look at them.
“We don’t want to get someone who’s going to come in and sit on the bench.
“We’ll keep working.”
Last season Jamie Devitt, Ryan Edwards and Shaun Beeley all came in on short-term deals before penning two-year contracts in the summer.
