The Shrimps make the trip looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat against Newport County AFC.

Seven matches take place tonight and tomorrow as teams play catch-up with rearranged fixtures.

Morecambe however, now have the benefit of a week between games after a number of Saturday and midweek matches during February and the early part of this month.

Adams said: “We have played Saturday-Tuesday for a few weeks in a row.

“We have had a lot of away games and we need a break like everyone else.”

The lack of a match will also help the Shrimps to assess their central defensive options for the weekend.

Skipper Sam Lavelle has a one-match ban for his red card during the loss to Newport.

Yann Songo’o dropped back from midfield to partner Harry Davis in the back four on Saturday but the hope is Nat Knight-Percival could make a return.

He has missed the last five matches since picking up an ankle ligament injury in the victory against Salford City last month.

“Nat will be close to coming back,” Adams said.

“We have still got options with Sam being out. He’s the one who has had a difficult day but he will pick himself up and go again.”

Saturday sees Morecambe travel to a Harrogate side who, like them, also have a free midweek after a weekend defeat.

They were beaten at Forest Green Rovers, a loss which left them 11th in the table after an upturn in their results.

In their debut EFL campaign, Harrogate had been on a run of three wins in 17 league games prior to hosting Newport at the end of January.

Victory that day kickstarted a spell of seven wins from 10 before last weekend.

They are now 11th in League Two, four places and eight points behind the Shrimps who dropped to seventh following their loss.

“They have picked up,” Adams said of Harrogate.

“They were beaten on Saturday but Forest Green is a tough venue to go to.

“However, Harrogate will be delighted with the season they are having. They are a tough outfit.”
