Morecambe boss Jim Bentley is “desperate” for his side to replicate their fine form on the road at the Globe Arena.
The Shrimps picked up four points away from home in the last seven days with impressive displays at both Oxford and Luton.
Bentley’s side now host bottom of the table Hartlepool on Saturday bidding to bounce back from poor home defeats to Dagenham & Redbridge and Cambridge.
The Shrimps boss admits he can’t put his finger on why his side’s fortunes differ away from the Globe Arena and at home but says he is determined to give fans something to cheer about.
He said: “We’ve had two good results away from home but we want to do it in front of our home fans.
“It’s football. It throws up crazy stats and scenarios at every club. We’re desperate to win on Saturday and turn it around and hopefully that’s what we’ll do.”
On paper it is a game Morecambe should cruise with Ronnie Moore’s Pools seven points adrift at the bottom of League 2.
Bentley said: “We never underestimate anyone.
“They’ve got a manager who knows the game inside out and they’re fighting for their lives.
“On paper we should win. They’re bottom of the league and poor away from home.
“They haven’t conceded many and have conceded a fair few too.
“But we can’t overlook anyone.”
Ryan Edwards will be suspended for the game following his sending off at Luton.
