The Shrimps returned to training last Tuesday ahead of their first friendly at Bamber Bridge on Tuesday, July 12.

Bentley said: “It’s been brilliant.

“It’s all been very good and we’ve had no injuries.

“All the players are in decent nick and the spirit is really good.

“We’ve got the ball out, done some physical work and some weights sessions.

“Everyone has got on with it and we’re pleased with how things are going.

“There’s certainly a feel-good factor around the place.”

New signings Dean Winnard, Luke Conlan, Liam Wakefield and Cole Stockton have all been present with Bentley also casting his eye over a couple of trialists.

The Shrimps boss is keen to strengthen further from back to front with 15 players currently signed up ahead of the new League 2 season getting underway at Grimsby on August 6.

Bentley said: “All the lads have fit in really well but we knew that would be the case.

“We’ve got a couple of trialists who might become permanent signings at the moment that we’re having a look at as well.

“We’ve got to run the rule over the properly because there’s only so much you can learn from possession drills.

“We’ll have an in-house game this week and then we’ve got the opening game next Tuesday.”
