Morecambe boss Jim Bentley is hoping for an injury boost ahead of this Saturday’s trip to Carlisle.

Aaron Wildig, Laurence Wilson, Andy Fleming, Tom Barkhuizen and Adam Dugdale all missed the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over Bury on Tuesday night and are doubts for the weekend.

Bentley is hoping to have a couple of the group fit for the trip to Brunton Park however.

He said: “It’s been a hectic schedule and it can take its toll on a small squad.

“We’ve had a little unfortunate couple of weeks but it happens.

“It happened at the start of the season and we did okay it was only when we got back up to full strength that we started losing a couple of games!

“I think Tuesday’s team picked itself.

“The 16 in the match-day squad were the only ones that trained on Monday.

“We’ve got one or two who have got a chance of being back this weekend but it might be the weekend after for the others.

“We’ll just have to see how people are shaping up over the next couple of days.”
