The Shrimps won 1-0 at Newport last time out and Bentley knows his side need to be more consistent if they are to move towards the League 2 play-offs.

The U’s, fresh from their FA exploits against Manchester United, will be looking to rediscover some good league form however.

Richard Money’s side are seven points clear of the Football League trap door but Bentley believes they are one of the best sides the Shrimps have come up against this season.

He said: “It (the FA Cup run) was an added bonus for them.

“It was a massive financial win and they’ve invested already into the team.

“I’m sure they’ve got big plans and they’ll be looking to kick on.

“They started this season really well and I thought in the game we played down there when we won 2-1 they were really strong physically, one of the better teams we’d come up against and we fancied them to do well. “Whether the FA Cup’s been a bit of a distraction I don’t know because they haven’t done much in the league in the last eight games or so.

“We’ll expect another tough challenge though and they’ve brought in some decent players as well.

“They’ve gone through a lot of players but seem to have good players in their ranks.

“But we’re coming off the back of a good victory, we’re at home, we’re in a better league position and we want to try and kick on.”

Bentley is keen for his side to record back-to-back wins with League 2 still wide open.

He said: “Anything’s possible.
“We’re in a decent position and we’re coming into the run in.

“We’ve got to make sure we try and get on a run.

“There always seems to be a team or two that comes late and sneaks in.

“We’ve certainly got a lot to play for.”
