The Shrimps – who finished just above the relegation zone after a difficult end to last season - will hope to get off to a great start at Blundell Park on Saturday, August 6.

A mouth-watering seaside derby then awaits Jim Bentley’s men when they welcome derby rivals Blackpool to the Globe Arena the following week.

It will be the first ever league game between the two clubs, although the Shrimps do have a winning record against the Tangerines after beating them 2-1 at Bloomfield Road in the Capital One Cup four years ago.

Morecambe’s first midweek match in the league takes place on Tuesday, August 16, when they host Portsmouth.

A trip to Yeovil Town then awaits the following Saturday before the second derby clash of the season takes place on Saturday, August 27, when they travel to the Crown Ground to take on Accringston Stanley,

Over the festive period, Morecambe travel to Mansfield Town on Boxing Day before making the trip to Hartlepool United on New Year’s Eve.

Their first game of the new year sees them at home to Crewe Alexandra.

The Shrimps’ return fixture against Stanley takes place on January 28, while they travel to Blackpool on March 4.

On Easter Saturday, which is April 15, Morecambe are away to Stevenage and they then host Colchester United at the Globe Arena two days later.

They finish their campaign on Saturday, May 6, by travelling south to take on Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
