MORECAMBE boss Sammy McIlroy has challenged his players to go unbeaten to the end of the season.

An excellent draw at high-flying Gillingham on Saturday saw the Shrimps go three games without defeat and with four matches remaining this season, including two matches over the Easter weekend, McIlroy is calling for his side to end the campaign on a high note.

He said: “The last couple of weeks has seen the lads put in some fantastic, fighting performances.

“We have been short of numbers with the side basically picking itself but the effort has been tremendous and we have been rewarded by getting to the 50-point mark which should mean we are safe now.”
