Lancaster City drew their third straight Evo-Stik First Division North game 1-1 as unbeaten Glossop North End took a share of the spoils at Giant Axe on Saturday.
After a first period low on opportunities for both sides the goals came in the second half, Tom Bailey opening the scoring for The Hillmen early in the period before Matty Poole levelled things up 15 minutes from time.
Both goalkeepers were largely spectators before the interval with the action picking up after the break.
Ashley Stott saw a good chance easily saved by City stopper Mike Hale with Aaron Taylor then firing into the side netting for the hosts.
It was second in the table Glossop, last year’s North West Counties Premier Division champions, who went in front on 51 minutes with Bailey on hand at the back post to convert Astley Mulholland’s cross on the stretch.
The visitors looked for a second but half chances came and went before Darren Peacock’s side got themselves back into the game on 76 minutes.
Captain Neil Marshall saw a header from a corner cleared off the line with Joe Whittington reacting to the rebound first allowing Poole to convert from close range.
Both sides had chances to take all three points but it ended honours even with City ending the day 13th in the table with 10 points from their opening seven games.
The Dolly Blues next host Spennymoor, fourth in the Evo-Stik First Division North, on Tuesday night.
