Morecambe boss Jim Bentley is hoping to welcome back three key players for his side’s trip to top of the table Plymouth on Saturday.

After being forced to field just six subs against Orient on Saturday, Bentley is hoping to see Shaun Miller, Andy Fleming and Laurence Wilson make the long trip to Home Park.

He said: “Laurence Wilson is back in training, and we hope to see Shaun Miller and Andy Fleming stepping things up as the week goes on too, which will be a big boost for us.

“We missed Shaun on Saturday because he has been flying. He’s the man in form in League 2 and when a striker is on the run he is on, he is bound to be a

“He’s been brilliant in October, but he had a slight knock during the week and said he was feeling a bit tight before the game.

“We could have risked it, but I don’t want to put him in a position where he might be out of action for longer than necessary. With Jack Ryan returning to Preston, we only had six subs as it was, and with a squad the size of ours we have to look after our players.’’

Bentley is hoping the Shrimps can maintain their excellent away form against a side being hotly tipped for automatic promotion.

Said Bentley: “We have only lost once away this season so far and that was on the opening day of the season.

“We know we are in for a tough afternoon but we have produced some great performances on our travels this season and I can’t see any reason why we can’t cause them problems on Saturday.”

That away form could come in handy as the Shrimps have been draw away to Dagenham and Redbridge in the FA Cup first round on November 7, a draw that means the sides will face each other two weeks in a row with the Shrimps hosting the Daggers seven days later.

Bentley said: “It’s a bit crazy really that we will be up against each other two weeks running but when it comes to FA Cup draws you just have to take what you are given.

“I would have ideally liked a home tie – as much to reduce the amount of travelling that we are doing at the moment as anything. But we didn’t get one and we will just get on with it.
