IN the Baines Bagguley North Lancashire and District Football League Premier Division, leaders Highgrove kept their position after an easy 5-0 win over a struggling Ingleton who are finding the going tough this season.

Highgrove controlled most of the game and deserved their win with goals scored by Jamie Lothian (2), Jonathon Pedder, Josh Buller and Luke Bradley.

Galgate moved up to second place after overcoming a stubborn Caton United.

Caton attacked every time they had the opportunity, leaving them open to counter attacks which Galgate exploited well, bringing them all four goals as their speedy forwards outpaced Caton’s defence.

Full-back Dave Woods, midfielder Mark Burkitt and centre forward Nathan Jackson scored for Caton.

In reply Chris Gardner (2), Lee Fox and Chris Haslam scored for Galgate.

This win moves Galgate up to a heady second position and real title challengers, and leaves Caton just two points above a relegation place.
