JIM Bentley is asking players and fans to raise their game as his side face struggling Hereford United at the Globe Arena on Saturday.
Bentley wants to see an air of positivity around the Globe as the Shrimps close in on their first target for the season of 50 points, which will almost certainly guarantee League 2 security for another season.
The Shimps’ boss admits his side were woeful against Dagenham last week but believes his players deserve more backing than they have been getting in recent weeks when at home.
He said: “I’m the first to admit we were shocking against Dagenham and our home form hasn’t been as good as we would have liked but I think people have forgotten that we were second favourites to be relegated this season. We got off to a flying start and we are still among the top 10 scorers in the league and have one of the top 10 defences as well and are sitting pretty comfortably in mid-table, which I think is a pretty decent showing so far.”
