Garstang host Slyne-with-Hest in a highly anticipated West Lancashire Premier Division derby on Saturday.
Both sides are in fine fettle heading into the game with The Riversiders unbeaten in 11 and sixth in the table.
They warmed up for the game with an excellent 2-1 home win over top of the table Blackpool Wren Rovers.
Neil Crossley’s side produced a fine second half comeback in the first ever competitive game played under floodlights at the Riverside with late goals from Matthew Bell and Adam Roskell sealing victory. Wrens had taken the lead through Nick Greenall’s strike 10 minutes into the second half.
Garstang had to dig deep and weathered a storm before Bell levelled things up when his 40-yard free-kick evaded everyone on its way into the net.
The winner came in the 87th minute, Roskell firing through a crowd of players with his shot going off the post and in.
Slyne were also 2-1 winners on Saturday, seeing off Hesketh Bank at Bottomdale Road. Jamie Hastings and former Lancaster City man Ryan Elderton were on target for the hosts who sit fourth in the table.
The derby is a 3pm kick-off at the Riverside.
