This Saturday The Shrimps kick off their League 2 campaign with a trip to Exeter, who they famously defeated to win promotion to the Football League in 2007.


Paul Tisdale. Fashion-conscious boss has been in charge since 2006 and overcame disappointment of 2007 play-off final loss to win the corresponding fixture a year later. Oversaw back-to-back promotions the following season but club were relegated back to the Football League’s bottom tier after three seasons in League 1 last season.

One to watch

Alan Gow. Well-travelled 
Scottish striker joined the club in March on a short-team deal and impressed enough to be offered a two-year contract in May. Looks set to be a 
key man for Tisdale this season.


Shrimps’ win in the 2007 Conference Play-Off final is the only time they have beaten The Grecians in 11 meetings between the sides. Teams last met in 2008-2009 season and shared two draws.


Drew final friendly 2-2 at Yeovil Town on Saturday. Due to play their Capital One Cup first round tie at home to Crystal Palace tonight, Tuesday.
