Defender Chris Doyle has put pen to paper on his new one-year deal with Morecambe.
As revealed in The Visitor the 20-year-old agreed a new contract some weeks ago but holidays meant he hadn’t been able to sign on the dotted line.
Doyle, who had two successful loan spells with National League North side Chorley last season, will be hoping to establish himself in The Shrimps’ first team in the coming season.
He said: “I am really happy to sign a new deal and hopefully can keep improving over the coming season.
“I learned a lot at Chorley last season and feel I am getting stronger all the time and really hope I can maintain that progress this year.”
Boss Jim Bentley said: “Chris has been at the club for a few years now and has grown in stature every year.
“He went on loan to Chorley last year and had two excellent spells there in a very successful side.
“Chorley spoke really highly of him and we are really pleased with his development and really do feel that he has great potential.”
