Morecambe ended the January transfer window as the only League 2 club not to make a signing.

The only action at the Globe Arena on Monday’s deadline day saw non-contract midfielder Tom McCready join Exeter after a successful trial.

One of the Shrimps’ targets early in the window had been securing an extended loan deal for Fleetwood stopper Scott Davies.

Finances dictated that the Wembley winner returned to his parent club and on Monday he joined the Shrimps’ arch rivals Accrington on loan for the rest of the season.

Boss Jim Bentley, who missed out on several targets during the month, will now turn his attention to the Football League’s loan window that opens on Monday.

Former Fleetwood striker Jamie Allen remains with the club and could feature in a behind closed doors friendly at Rotherham on Tuesday where first-team players who haven’t featured in recent weeks are also expected to get some game time.
