Danboyi Adze touch of class for Carnforth

IN the third round of the Lancashire Football Association Amateur Cup, Carnforth Rangers travelled to play Fothergill/Whittles from the Rochdale area.

The crisper football played by Carnforth was much too good for Fothergill who at times were chasing shadows.

Adze Damboyi, playing his best football of the season for Carnforth, scored a brilliant hat-trick, his strike partner Byron Nixon scored two good goals to put them into the next round where they will be away to Winstanley St Aidans.

College AFC from Division One entertained Worsthorne from the Burnley area.

The game ended 1-1 with Guy Spencely scoring for the College side.

This sent the tie straight into the penalty shoot out, resulting in College emerging 6-5 winners and an away tie in the next round to the winners of the postponed tie between Bolton United or local side Highgrove to be played on Saturday, November 12.

Storeys travelled to play Blackburn side Langho with great expectations, but after a cagey opening they capitulated and lost 4-1, Rob Evans scoring a consolation.

TIC Dynamos of Overton and Middleton faced a tough task when they travelled to play Winstanley St Aidans from the Wigan area.

TIC Dynamos put up a brilliant performance to hold them to a goalless first half.

The first half of the second half was even better for TIC when they went in front, albeit slightly against the run of play, when Gareth Turner converted a penalty

But Winstanley were also awarded a penalty shortly after from which they equalised.

Within minutes poor defending of a corner was the downfall of TIC, the corner to the near post should have been cleared but unfortunately this led to the home team taking a 2-1 lead.

TIC created a lot of good chances after this setback but failed to find the net so disappointingly for them they bow out of the competition after losing a game they could have won.
