Broadcast arrangements confirmed for Morecambe's FA Cup tie at Chelsea

It has been confirmed that Morecambe’s FA Cup third round tie at Chelsea will be broadcast across the BBC’s digital platforms.

The match at Stamford Bridge will take place on Sunday, January 10 (1.30pm) with the Shrimps in the third round for the first time since 2003.

It also means the club will pick up a live broadcast fee of £37,500, while the match also carries prize money of £61,500 to the winners and £20,500 to the losing team.

Morecambe have already made £112,472 in prize money from the FA Cup so far after beating Maldon and Tiptree in round one, followed by victory against Solihull Moors last time out.

That figure is made up of £70,000 from being two multi-camera broadcast matches and £42,472 in prize money.

All 32 ties will be broadcast live for the first time, eight of them across the BBC and its various platforms, 16 by BT Sport, and the remaining eight through the FA Player service.
