The Shrimps look set to end the season in midtable with The Shakers eyeing automatic promotion having won their last four.

Bentley said: “We’re not just going there to make up the numbers.

“We’ve beaten Burton away, Southend, Newport home and away who are in the play-offs and Luton home and away who are in and around the play-offs.

“We never fear anyone.

“We know it’s a difficult game but it’s one we want to get our teeth into and try and get points on the board.

“We’ve done well away from home recently and we’ve got to try and continue that.”

The sides are no strangers to each other this season with Morecambe winning 1-0 at the Globe Arena in November having exited the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at Gigg Lane a month earlier, going down 3-1.

Bentley said: “It was a good game for us (at the Globe Arena) and hopefully it’s more of the same this time around.

“I thought we gave them a good game in the cup too and were unlucky to at least not take it into extra time.

“There a good side with a manager who we know very well and they’ve got big ambitions there.

“They had a ropey spell but they’ve come back strong and are in good form now with good momentum.”

Shrimps captain Mark Hughes could miss out on playing against his former club after coming off with a hamstring injury in the first half of the 1-1 draw against Accrington on Good Friday.
