Morecambe boss Jim Bentley felt his side were well worth their three points at high-flying Wycombe on Saturday.
Second-half goals from Shaun Miller and Jamie Devitt, from the penalty spot, helped The Shrimps beat a 10-man Chairboys side who had won their last three games.
Bentley said after the 2-0 win: “It was excellent.
“From start to finish I thought we looked solid.
“We’ve worked on things defensively through the week when we could and we carried that out today.
“We know going forward we’re a threat.
“We’ve created good chances and got in a couple of times. The first one was a good goal and Aaron Wildig’s done well for the second one and then the game’s wrapped up.
“It’s pleasing, it’s a clean sheet and three points against a very strong side who were in good form.
“Anyone’s capable of beating anyone in the division and we’ve proved that today.
“I know that we’re a good side, I know that we’re doing our best, I know that we’re working hard and that the lads have given it their all.
“I think it’s sometimes easy to point the finger when you’ve been beaten but today we were excellent and I think we thoroughly deserved the three points.”
