MORECAMBE aim to secure League 2 safety at Barnet for the second year in succession when they travel to Underhill on Saturday.
Victory against the Bees would take the Shrimps to 50 points and almost certain safety – a feat Morecambe achieved at Underhill last year when Danny Carlton was the goal hero.
After a mixed week at home with a superb victory over Cheltenham followed by a poor defeat against Hereford, the Shrimps face two games on their travels with Jim Bentley’s men looking for a rare win over Accrington Stanley next Tuesday.
Bentley said: “Saturday is a really important game for us and there is no doubt it will be a tough trip.
“Barnet will be eager to keep away from the relegation zone and had a good win at the weekend themselves.
“We have set ourselves goals all season and 50 points is one of the them. We want to have a positive goal difference, score more than we did last year and concede less and we are well on our way to doing that.”
