Morecambe boss Jim Bentley admitted Wycombe going down to 10 men was a major factor in his side getting a last-gasp point at Adams Park on Saturday.
Joel Grant saw red for the home side in the 43rd-minute for a lunge on Andy Wright with The Chairboys well in command, helping the Shrimps come back and snatch a 2-2 draw.
Bentley said: “Looking at the first half an hour there was only going to be one winner.
“Wycombe were really up for it and we were really lacklustre and still in the hotel I think.
“Our passing was poor, there was no communication or anticipation and they bossed the game. They caused us loads of problems but the sending off helped us because if they had 11 players I think they would have beaten us.
“Even with 10 they scored a second when we conceded another sloppy goal but on a positive side we came back into the game and once Richard Brodie scored I thought we were the better team and I was delighted to see Jack (Redshaw) pop up again in the last minute to earn us a point.
“In the end it was a good result but I have to be honest and say it was a poor performance and we got away with it in many ways.”
