Midfielder Ryan Williams is being linked with a move to Motherwell as Bentley attempts to bring Fleetwood goalkeeper Scott Davies back on loan.

Wembley winner Davies starred as cover for the injured Barry Roche but budget constraints mean he has returned to his parent club.

Bentley said: “We going to keep trying to get Scott Davies back but no can do at the moment.

“It’s finances, that’s all it is.

“For someone to come in, someone will have to go out.

“There’s one or two players who might go out over the coming days so we’ll see what’s what.

“If that’s the case then we might be able to do something with Scott.

“I’ve got every trust in Andreas Arestidou though. He’s waited a long time for his chance so as it stands he’ll be playing on Saturday.”

Long-time number two Arestidou was unlucky to also be injured when Roche had hip surgery with Davies and Queens Park Rangers loanee Joe Lumley having been needed this season.

Bentley said: “Unfortunately at the time Baz got his injury Stav (Arestidou) was injured as well.

“Now Scott’s gone back and Baz is still injured he’s the only goalkeeper we’ve got at the club.

“He’s been here a while and when he’s been asked to come in he’s done okay.

“He’s got everyone’s trust and he’s got a chance to stake his claim.

“I think even he’ll appreciate that Scott did well in his time here and we’re always trying to improve and make the squad better and if we can do that we will do.”
