Having lost their last three games the Globe Arena The Shrimps backed up their fine recent form on the road with a 3-1 win over Crawley.

A fourth straight victory in all competitions saw Bentley’s men move into the final League 2 play-off place in seventh ahead of hosting sixth in the table Leyton Orient on Saturday.

The Shrimps boss is hoping more fans will turn out this weekend as his side, the top scorers in England’s top four divisions, bid to really get in amongst the promotion picture.

Bentley said: “I’ve got to be honest, I’m a bit disappointed with the attendance.

“I feel so sorry for the directors and the chairman, I don’t think they can do anymore.

“If you want to see goals we’re where they are at the minute.

“We’ve got players like (Shaun) Miller, like (Tom) Barkhuizen and Jamie Devitt’s got more assists than anyone in the Football League.

“We’re the top scorers in the country and we hoped there would be more here to come out and watch us.

“I’ve said it all along. This football club needs the community to get behind it.

“I’ve got every respect for the fans that go home and away, I love them to bits and have always had a good relationship with them.

“But this football club needs the town to get behind it because without it it’s going to be very difficult to sustain our position.

“As a manager thought that’s not my department.

“I’ve just got to make sure we continue to work hard and focus on Leyton Orient on Saturday.”
