Morecambe boss Jim Bentley believes Jamie Devitt “fits the bill” after making the Chesterfield winger his first signing of the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old Dubliner has joined for an initial one-month spell and fills the gap left by Joe Mwasile who has joined Skrill North side Altrincham for the next month.
Bentley said: “I have seen Jamie play a few times against us and always been impressed.
“He can play in several forward positions and has two good feet.
“He’s got pace as well and will be a good addition to the squad.
“I have said for a while that we needed a new face and he fits the bill well.”
Bentley hopes bringing in Devitt won’t be his only business this month with the Morecambe boss still striving to bring in a defender, an area he believes he has been short in since the opening day of the season.
He said: “The deal doesn’t mean I’m not working to bring in a defender.
“That remains my priority, I’ve just been knocked back in moves for a couple of players.”
