Bentley challenges Redshaw to keep up fine form

The front man made it two goals in two games after bagging the winner at Newport on Saturday.

Having already attracted admiring glances from elsewhere during his time at the club, Bentley knows just how good the 24-year-old former Manchester City youngster can be.

The Shrimps boss said: “He’s a big player for us.

“When he’s on top of his game he’s one of the best in the league.

“He’s got goals in back-to-back games and now he’s got to show that hunger and desire to keep it up.

“He’s showing some good signs and hopefully he can keep doing well.”

Bentley now wants his side to back up their hard-fought win in South Wales with victory over Cambridge United at the Globe Arena on Saturday. 
Earlier in the month The Shrimps boss was left frustrated when his side slipped up against Dagenham & Redbridge after their first win of 2015 against Mansfield.

He knows however that consistency is key.

Bentley said: “The teams that climb up the table are consistent.

“We’ve been very inconsistent, winning one and then losing one.

“Saturday is an opportunity for us to back the Newport victory up with another one.

“It will be a tough game for us though.

“They’re a big club and I thought they were excellent at their place earlier in the season.

“They were a big, strong, physical side and we’ll be expecting more of the same.

“Their FA Cup run maybe meant they took their eye off the league but after coming up from the Conference they’ve had a good season so far.”
