Bentley can't wait for return at Crawley after illness

The Shrimps boss was absent through illness as assistant manager Ken McKenna oversaw a 1-0 loss against The Hatters.

After a couple of days under the weather Bentley will be back at the helm against Crawley on Saturday however.

He said: “It was not nice.

“There’s a little bit of illness going round and the fitness coach (Chris Squirrell) has got it now. 
“Andy Parrish has had something and a couple of the lads have been under the weather.

“It wasn’t nice to not be with the team but I’ve been able to look over the game and I honestly believe we’ve been okay again.

“There was just a slight little positional error that’s cost us in the back line.

“It’s not a major error it’s a just a little thing but we’re being punished for every one at the moment.

“It was horrible not being there and made even worse by the result at the end of the evening.”

Bentley knows Crawley boss Mark Yates well and is also an admirer of Charles Dunne who joined the Red Devils on loan from Blackpool this week.

He said: “Crawley are just coming off the back of a decent win themselves.

“They haven’t been in good form up until recently.

“We always back ourselves though. Whether we’re a little bit cagey to start with or we come out it’s horses for courses.

“We know we can beat anyone on our day and over this spell of games we’ve proven we can match anyone.

“We’ve just come under that fine dividing line too often and that’s what’s cost us results.

“We’re more than capable of winning on Saturday.

“It’ll be a tough game. I know their manager very well and they’ve brought a good player in in the week who I’ve tried to sign myself in the past.”
