Morecambe boss Jim Bentley is battling a mounting injury list ahead of his side’s trip to Stevenage on Saturday.
There are several knocks and niggles in the Shrimps squad with Kevin Ellison and Alan Goodall also set to serve one-game bans at Broadhall Way after picking up their fifth bookings of the season at Portsmouth.
Jamie Devitt and Padraig Amond are however on the comeback trail as Bentley tries to manage a depleted squad.
He said: “We’ve got a few injuries.
“Devitt and Amond are back and hopefully they’ll get fitter and stronger but Goodall and Ellison are both suspended.
“And we’ve got quite a few other injuries within the camp.
“It’s football and it happens and that’s why we wanted a bigger squad this year.
“But we’re very stretched at the minute to be perfectly honest.
“We’ll just have to get on with it.”
There is some light at the tunnel with the Shrimps without a game on Saturday, December 6, the weekend of the FA Cup second round.
Bentley said: “We’ve got a two-week break after this game.
“Ellison and Goodall will be back and I would imagine over 50 per cent of the injuries we’ve got will be back.
“Just for this particular game we are down to the bare bones.
“Two weeks is a long time and it will give time for quite a few of the lads to get over their knocks and little injuries.”
