The right back is joined by Adam Dugdale, Chris Doyle, Charlie Bailey and Jack Kelleher in being released at the end of their contracts.

The club have also announced that new deals have been offered to Jamie Devitt, Ryan Edwards, Alex Kenyon and Shaun Miller with the option being taken up on Andy Fleming’s contract.

Confirmation that Fleming is staying means Jim Bentley now has nine players under contract for next season - Fleming, Tom Barkhuizen, Kevin Ellison, Aaron McGowan, Lee Molyneux, Paul Mullin, Peter Murphy, Barry Roche and Aaron Wildig.

Beeley, who filled in for the injured Peter Murphy as skipper for the majority of last season, made around 100 appearances for Morecambe across two and a half years with the club.

The former Fleetwood man, 27, was named player of the year in his first full season with the club in 2014-2015.

Centre half Dugdale has battled injury during his solitary season with The Shrimps, making 26 appearances.

Fellow defender Doyle, 21, has long been seen as a top prospect at the Globe Arena and featured prominently during the second half of the season.

Lancaster-born midfielder Bailey, who spent time on loan at Kendal, and striker Kelleher, who gained first team experience with Colwyn Bay, have not had their stays extended beyond their first years as professionals.

The Shrimps had previously announced the departures of Andy Parrish, Nathan Bondswell and Alan Goodall immediately following the end of the season.
