Darts: Newell sees off Shewan in final
Kendal professional Tony Newell was the winner of the Vantage Skoda Darts Open held at Morecambe Cricket Club on Sunday.
The event, which again raised money for St John’s Hospice with almost £600 going to the charity this year, saw Tony complete a fine double having won an event in Maryport on Boxing Day.
He picked up the £200 winner’s cheque with victory over Lee Shewan in the final as he came through a 72-strong field at Woodhill Lane.
